Australian Year Seven (Grade 6) Language about Language and Literature

English as a school-subject in English-speaking countries is generally a combination of studies of English Language, Use of English and English Literature, and it has its own vocabulary.

This vocabulary acquisition and development session is built around the required technical language of Australia's Queensland Year 7 English programme, and is similar to the contents of other countries' Year 7 / Grade 6 programmes. Subsequent sessions include the application and implementation of these essential terms and concepts to English Language, Use of English and English Literature texts and contexts.

Each one-hour online session is based around a short written text which prompts discussion on its content and language, and leads to any explorations of vocabulary, grammar or usage which are needed. Prior to each session, students are also sent a preparation task to complete which we then review, developing their written skills. Levels and activities come from Australian standards and approaches, and later texts are chosen to reflect student interests.

We also specialise in working with native or bilingual students, and with students who speak English at home, or with one parent only, and not at school.
