Support for students taking Cambridge International IGCSE English as a Second Langage. These one-hour online interactive sessions cover reading comprehension with genuine examination examples.
Prior to a session, three authentic tasks will be sent for preparation; each should take 10 minutes to complete and during the session, we will review two, if not all three, in terms of what should be done to achieve success according to Cambridge expectations. We will also cover :
- task analysis
- strategies
- marking and markscheme
- maximising your score
Note that there are two Reading Comprehension components in this examination, although they do of course overlap. One is oriented more towards Knowledge and Understanding of langauge and of the text, the other towards Response to and Analysis of the text. For ease and quick reference, we often refer to them as Components I and II.
