How are your child(ren)'s English skills?

Do you speak English at home? Does your child attend an English-medium school?* How good is his/her English really? How does s/he compare to the international standard, and in particular in writing, the most important skill for academic success?

Your child is invited to join this double-session where we will review six Cambridge English as a Second Language tasks using authentic materials and marking standards. These tasks are linked to the international standard for Grade 10 / age 16 students.

Dates and times by arrangement. A typical half-day morning or evening programme would look like :

9.00 - 10.00am or 6.00 - 7.00pm etc : How are your English as a Second Language Skills? I
Reading Comprehension Knowledge & Understanding, Reading Comprehension Response & Analysis, Note-taking

10.30 - 11.30am or 7.30 - 8.30pm etc : How are your English as a Second Language Skills? II
Summary, Email to a Friend, Composition

Tasks will be sent to registrants around 3.00pm the day prior and they will need 90 minutes to prepare their responses. Session II responses should be done electronically so that they can be shared for analysis and feedback.

Participants will need several coloured pens or pencils and a notebook or paper for taking notes.

These are open-group sessions where student responses and correct/incorrect answers will be shared. Nominally aimed at 16 year-olds / Grade 10 students, others who may have this level are welcome to attend.

Each session, $10.000. Both sessions, $20.000. Please complete the "Contact Us" box on the right for dates and times of future events, and registration information.
